About Us
We both began our work in photojournalism as teenagers because of our love for photography. We have continued our careers in newspapers for the past 20 years, establishing ourselves as national and state award winners in a highly competitive field. Our work has been published in Time, Newsweek, Life, People and The New York Times. Both of us were nominated for The Pulitzer Prize for our work in 2007.

We honed our skills and reliability by working under strict deadlines, shooting everything from the Iraq war to college football and fashion spreads to documentary projects. We pride ourselves on recording life’s moments with a lens, whether our photos will be seen by thousands on the front page or by generations in a treasured family wedding album.

We became colleagues and close friends at The Post and Courier newspaper in Charleston, where we have worked together since the mid ‘90s. We have lived in the Lowcountry with our families for more than a decade and are very familiar with the region, including its churches and venues.

Our Style
At Lowcountry Photojournalism, we follow you through your wedding day, blending in and letting events unfold as naturally as possible. We take a more relaxed and artistic approach than many traditional wedding photographers. This means we spend most of our time shooting story-telling images rather than posed group photos. As a result, you have more time to celebrate, and we can fully capture the emotion of the day.

We are flexible, though, and will talk with you beforehand about your tastes and priorities. We understand how important your collection of photos will be to you. We intend to tell the story of your wedding so that you will not only remember it but relive it for years to come.
